Douglas Hot Springs is a shallow river that is connected with streams of very hot water which creates warm water mixes. With its own camping ground it is very popular with locals and tourists.

Umbrawarra Gorge National Park is 115km north of Katherine. A beautiful isolated gore with steep red cliffs. A short paved track leads on to rocks. Climb over these and venture further into the gorge and paddle in the clear pool waters.

Katherine Gorge and close by Edith Falls, are part of the Nitmiluk National Park. Take a slow river cruise and learn about the history of the gorge and see some old aborginal paintings. Take one of the many walks up and through the gorge and see the spectacular views. There is even a camping site for those touring.

5km north of Tennant Creek, Mary Ann Dam is man made and is a recreational environment offering an ideal picnic spot. There is space for swimming, canoeing with shaded grass lands and barbecue facilities.

The Pebbles   The Pebbles

Kunjarra or better known, The Pebbles, are a scared site where aboringal women dance for the Munga Munga Dreaming. These granite boulders can be seen 18km from Tennent Creek, along an unsealed road. Its worth a visit to see a fascinating display and how the colours come alive with the sunrise and sunset.

The Devils Marbles   The Devils Marbles

The Devils Marbles which are 1 hour south of Tennent Creek, are massive compared to their relation, the pebbles. They range up to 6 meters high and have been foamed over millions of years. Aboriginal legend states that The Rainbow Serpent stopped east of the Kimberly, where rainbows meet the Earth. This fossiled its eggs, which are now the Devils Marbles. It is considerate a scared site, however you can wonder round and get up close, even climb the huge boulders. See all the different views, it is quite breath taking to understand how some are precariously balanced on top of one another.

Wycliffe Well is known as the place where most sightings of UFOs are made in Australia. The camping area has fun paintings and there are road signs to make you aware you are passing through the spooky place!
