The National Transport Museum at Birdwood, 50km from Adelaide City, holds over three hundred vintage, veteran and classic motor cars and cycles.

Visit The World Famous Giant Rocking Horse at The Toy Factory in Gumeracha; 45mins from Adelaide City. Standing 18 meters high, it is in The Guinness Book of Records. There is also a Santa's woodshop below, where wooded toys of all shapes and sizes are made. You can tour the factory and after, visit the local animal park where you can hand feed the wallabies.

Mount Lofty gives you great views. 710 meters above sea level and only 15mins from the city, the spectaclar panoramic views over Adelaide to the sea are sensational during the day and especially at night with the wonderful sunsets.

Coorong National Park is 2 hours from Adelaide and extends 130km South East from the mouth of the River Murray. It is a holiday destination for everyone. The Park and the Lakes region has good picnic areas and great scenic walks and lookouts to explore the vast unspoiled open wilderness. The area also has special importance for the many cultural and scientific relics. It is also a habitat for many species of migratory birds and those in danger of extinction, so at certain times of the year, part of the beaches are closed to help breeding.

Adelaide Cricket Oval holds 34,000 spectators. Est.1873 it is on this famous ground that Sir Donald Bradman made his cricketing debut. Home to the "Red Backs Cricket Team", Australian Football and Rugby Union are also played at the the oval.

The Horse Drawn Tramway set in the picturesque Encounter Bay on the Fleurieu Pennisula Adelaide, takes passengers from the mainland via a 600m wooden causeway to Granite Island where you can take a Little Penguin Tour at dusk to see the world's smallest penguin species. Just 35cm tall and weighing only 1.2kg

Glenelg, the long sandy white shore of Holdfast Bay, is Adelaides most popular seaside town. Only 10km from the city; a 25min tram ride following the original route back dating to 1873, brings you to the recreational and leisure town. Est.1836 it is the oldest European settlement on mainland South Australia.
